Quick questions
What is Palliative Care?
Palliative Care at Home is specialist Domiciliary Care designed for people dealing with a life limiting illness. The primary aim of this support is to make you or your loved one feel as comfortable as possible in those final days. This involves managing pain or any symptoms. It can also include psychological and emotional support, such as providing companionship or a friendly face. Find your local Alina Homecare Team to learn more about how we can help you.
When can Palliative Care start?
Palliative Care can be started as soon as you are ready, not just at the end of life. Whenever you choose our services, we will aim to provide excellent quality care that puts you at ease, makes you more comfortable and preserves your dignity. You can rest assured that you will always be in good hands.
We know the symptoms of serious conditions and terminal illnesses are subject to change at a moment’s notice. We understand this and always endeavour to provide timely, dedicated support whenever you need it. To get started, simply call us if you’d like to discuss the options. We can also support you with Palliative Care at short notice. To get started, find your local Alina Homecare team.
What is the difference between end of life and Palliative Care?
Palliative Care is a type of care available for people with a life limiting, terminal illness. This care can last for months or even years. End of life care is a specific form of Palliative Care you receive when you’re close to the end of life. As with all Palliative Care, end of life care ensures loved ones enjoy the highest quality support in their remaining days, maximising comfort and dignity.
What is the difference between Palliative Care and hospice care?
Palliative Care can begin at any time that you and your loved ones decide. This is different to hospice care, which is usually delivered when it is no longer possible to treat the life limiting illness.
How much does it cost?
As with all Care at Home services, the cost of Palliative Care varies according to your individual needs. Some people may only wish to receive an hour or two of support whereas others need 24/7 Palliative Care. The best way to price your requirements is to contact your local Team.
