Who can benefit from Companion Care?

Anyone can benefit from Companion Care. It can be a great option for people who live alone or could benefit from additional social interaction.

Companion Care can be beneficial for people who spend a lot of their time alone or feel isolated after a change, such as bereavement or family moving away. A friendly Companion Carer provides company at home and encouragement to stay socially connected.

Companion Care can support people who would like to get out more but feel nervous going alone. Carers can join them on walks, trips to the shops, attending appointments or to a local club in the community. This reassurance helps build confidence so your loved one can enjoy life outside the home again.

After a medical procedure or hospital stay, recovery at home can be daunting. Companion Care provides safe support, help with household tasks and offers companionship throughout the recovery process.

Companion Care also benefits family members. Knowing a trained Carer is checking in and offering conversation and support can be greatly reassuring. Carers can let families know about any changes or concerns, helping everyone feel confident that their loved one is happy, safe and well supported.

Home Care costs vary depending on many factors. Costs will be determined by the type of care needed, how often it’s needed and where you or your loved one live. Most of our Home Care services are charged on an hourly or part-hourly basis to ensure care remains fully flexible and changeable to suit your needs. However, if Overnight Care or Live-in Care is required, costs can be charged at a fixed rate. To learn more about how much Home Care costs, contact your local Careena Homecare Team for a more comprehensive cost assessment.

Home Care is great for those who wish to remain in the comfort of their home but need extra support. Moving into a residential care facility can be daunting and many prefer to remain in a familiar environment surrounded by special memories. Home Care also provides personalised support that’s conducted in a manner to suit your needs and preferences. Unfortunately, care homes can’t provide the same level of dedicated and personalised care. In a care home, staff attention is shared between multiple residents. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and what you think would work best for you. Read our guide comparing Home Care with care homes.
